Boiler servicing
It is recommended that you have your boiler serviced by a Gas Safe qualified engineer, every 12 months, to ensure that your boiler is running efficiently, and to ensure that all the safety devices on your boiler are working correctly.
An efficient boiler will use less fuel, and with the price of gas rising all the time, it may save you money.
A poorly maintained gas boiler will not run efficiently, and may give of deadly gas, Carbon Monoxide, so to ensure the safety of you and your family, have your boiler serviced regularly.
An annual service includes the following checks
Please note: regular servicing of your boiler will extend its life, however, a boiler service is to check the performance and safety, and cannot be used as a means of fault detection. If you are experiencing a problem with your boiler, please discuss this when making the booking.
Carbon Monoxide – The Silent Killer
You can’t see it, smell it or taste it, but carbon monoxide kills.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a gas by-product of burning any fossil fuel, such as gas, coal and oil. This gas under normal circumstances should be vented outside the property, under controlled condition. If the CO escapes or spills back in to a room possibly because of a blocked flue, faulty appliances, or shoddy installations this can build up causing CO poisoning.
The symptoms are often mistaken for flu, with headaches, dizziness and fatigue. These can quickly develop and the victim becomes disoriented, and will lapse into unconsciousness. Death can occur in less than an hour.
